With this in mind Chef Wayan’s Beef in Red Wine, although a simple recipe, is very tasty. The quality sirloin beef is cooked to perfection and just melts in your mouth. Unfortunately the quality of the wine in Indonesia is much less reliable so maybe use it just for cooking rather than drinking!
This photo shows the beef served with white rice and sauteed water spinach and carrots but the options are vast and the choice is yours.
You will need:
Chopped Onions x 2
Sirloin Beef x 200g
Red Wine x 200g
Tomato Paste x 2 tbsp
White Sugar x 1 tbsp
Heat oil in 2 pans. Saute the onions gently in one pan until golden brown.
Sear the beef in the second pan.
Add the beef to the onions and continue cooking. Add the red wine. Add the sugar and the tomato paste and stir well.
Serve with your favourite side dishes.
