We enjoy a lot of tasty peanut sauce on board Damai It’s simple to make, got a little kick to it and is definitely an authentic taste of Indonesia.

You will need:
Raw Peanuts 150g
Chili – to taste
Salt & Sweet Soy Sauce to taste
Heat oil in pan until hot. Add the raw peanuts and cook for a few minutes on a high heat.
Rough chop the chili and add to the pan along with the shallots and garlic and cook for a few minutes longer.
Strain the peanuts etc from the oil and add to a blender.
Cover contents with water and blend to a smooth paste.
Pour the paste into a pan and put back on a high heat. Add salt and sweet soy sauce to taste.
Bring to the boil.
You can serve with Indonesian Gado-gado or any kind of Sate or just add to white rice for a change.
