Begin the Damai experience by flying into the Sultanate of Ternate and transfer directly to the boat to settle in. You will do your check out dive on the volcanic island of Tidore around the navigation beacon. This dive site has both fish activity as well as cool macro to get you started.
Island hop through the picturesque northern Maluku islands. Another volcano in Makian has a great macro dock dive whilst the archipelago of Goraici has seamounts with possible manta sightings and great reefs and beautiful coral gardens.
Move south to Bacan with its world class muck diving in the morning along the black sand slopes in front of the boat-building beach and its schooling barracuda off the wall in the afternoon.
Cross the Seram Sea to the remote island of Pulau Pisang with its specatular topography of pinacles and plateaus teaming with schooling fish.
Continue onto Misool in the south of Raja Ampat to experience the unique Blue Water Mangroves where the reef meets the mangrove roots. An excellenct opportunity for wide angle photography.
Travel east to the world class diving around the islands of Wayilbatan, Boo and Farondi in the south of Raja Ampat. You will experience the best in colourful soft corals, seafans, schooling fish, sharks, mantas and interesting reef macro life such as the tiny pygmy seahorse.
Move to northern Raja Ampat to Penemu where not only is the diving great, with famous divesites like Melissa’s Garden, but you also have the opportunity to take a tender boat ride around the limestone karst and climb to a view point above this beautiful lagoon.
Your last day of diving will take you the the iconic, current rich Dampier Straits which is the centre of marine biodiversity in the world. Seamounts and reef slopes are teeming with fish and macro.
You will cruise east to the port of Sorong for your flight home the following day.
