Alor has its own microenvironment fed by currents from both the Indian and the Pacific oceans. Its waters are extremely rich, with a good variety of "big" and "small" life. The channels between its islands are established passages for cetaceous and blue and sperm whales are not uncommon sights.

Komodo is the land that time forgot. This World Heritage Site has action packed diving, prehistoric Komodo dragons and spectacular scenery. Pass through Bali to visit the and if you are lucky, you'll have a chance to see some Whaleshark and Mola Mola. Even if these wonderful creatures don't show up, you will be able to visit the famous USAT liberty wreck and the passing school of Bumphead Parrotfish. Below will be the draft itinerary when you are onboard of Damai:

Day 1: Arrive in Maumere

Guests will arrive in Maumere and have time to get comfortable on the boat. We will depart once we have settled on the boat, and head towards the island of Pomona for a checkup dive:

Slopping reefs, combination of sand and corals, chances to see pygmies in the numerous fans that we will find along these easy dives.

Day 2: Serbete & Adunara

Starting the day at the craggy rock called Serbete. Two dives here on the wall and the sand slope are a great way to start the diving day. Then in to the west side of the island of Adonara for the afternoon and night dives. Get your eyes in tune for hunting out critters and macro.

Day 3: Rusa

This is a collection of 3 small islands in the middle of the current rich channel. Beautiful coral covered reefs with clouds of reef fish like anthias. This is the perfect day for looking out for large creatures; turtles, sharks, tuna, rainbow runner, manta, mola mola.

Day 4: Tanjung Bacatan & Komba

In the north of Kawula island, tanjung Bacatan is a classic. Deep slope that gentle gives way a wall, passing Tunas, Wahoo and other pelagic are expected to be spotted. After two dives we sail towards the volcano if Komba, active until very recently and always a beautiful sight. We will look for whales on our way.

Day 5: Batu Boga

A big surprise for this last day of diving. Great corals, great sea fans, lots of schooling grunts and snappers, turtles, and quite av few black tip. Without a doubt, a world class diving site.

Day 6: Sebolan Kecil & North Komodo

After a long crossing along the north shore of the island of Flores, we will arrive to the boundaries of the Komodo national park: Easy nice slopes, healthy corals and the possibility of encounter with eagle rays that tent to hover close to the reef. After two dives, it is time to get ready for the National park and we will move towards the Northern area of Komodo for some adrenaline dives along Lawa Laut and "The Passage".

Day 7: Central Komodo & Wainilu

Back to the middle of the channel to dive the Signature site of Batu Bolong; the 'Rock with the Hole'. This is a beautiful reef dive with plenty of fish, turtles and passing pelagics. Just beside on the current rich Karang Makassar is an excellent drift dive with manta cleaning action.

For a macro afternoon head to the small island of Wainilu on the north coast of Rinca. Diving along the sand slope in front of the beach should prove an excellent opportunity for critter hunting and some unusual nudibranchs.

This is the gateway to enjoy a walk in the park to view the prehistoric Komodo dragon. You may also see monkeys, water buffalo and wild boar or just enjoy the panoramic views over the park.

Day 8: Gili Lawa Laut

For some of the best schooling fish action in Komodo we will head to the north of the park and dive on two seamounts called Crystal Rock and Castle Rock. Keep you eyes open for cruising sharks amongst the clouds of schooling fish.

Day 9: Gili Banta

With the shape of a underwater caldera, the island is a Must stop on the way to the national Park. "Stairway to heaven" I the north west tip, is a dramatic wall, with intense coral development, schooling snappers, thousands of anthias, pelagic, for those in search of more adrenaline, GPS point is a seamount at the mercy of currents, that means fish action! In Banta we also can enjoy one of the best night doves of the area, with bobtail squid or stargazers as the stars of the show.

Day 10: Sumbawa

We will visit the fisher community of Saleh Bay's waters off Sumbawa where, as in other areas of Indonesia we have chances to spot whale sharks that would swim around fishing platforms, also known as bagan. This kind of eco-tourism is attracting numerous divers a snorkeler thus transforming old fishing comminutes, many of them using aggressive ways of capturing food into friendlier ad more ocean environment aware.

Day 11: Bali

The signature site on the east coast of Bali is USAT Liberty shipwreck off the beach at Tulamben. This is a great dive with excellent growth on the wreck and the chance to see schooling parrotfish and sweetlips.

For the afternoon enjoy the black sand for a critter hunt. Keep your eyes open for some cool shrimp, like Harlequins and Tigers.

Day 12: Departure

Guests will be escorted to the airport in Bali and assisted with check in procedures, no doubt full of talk about the wonders of the most popular dive destination in the world.

DISCLAIMERS

The trip will be weather dependent and there might be long crossing required throughout. We will, try to adjust the best we can to the conditions and fulfil all itinerary briefed when you’re on the boat.

Due to the need to report to the local village, divers will need to be flexible with the start time of the first dive at some of the dive sites. We will ensure that you’re given timely update on this during the trip, however your understanding on last minute changes would be appreciate. This is because divers are only allowed in the water once permission is granted by the local villages and officers.

Damai are flexible to change itinerary suggested based on customer’s preference in the event that weather and time allow us to do so and if changes is agreeable by all participants on board
